There are resoureces available which provide support and advice when children and young people experience loss and bereavement.

 

  • The Crocus Group, part of Highland Hospice, provides help and support for crocus 1bereaved children and young people in the Highlands. Based in Inverness, Crocus Group was formed in 1995 and the Crocus Child Bereavement Group was formed by professionals in 1996. The aim of the group is to empower children and young people to manage their own grief.

 

 

  • The Support Around Death (SAD) NHS Education for Scotland website, provides information on different aspects surrounding death and bereavement. It also provides strategies and support for the wellbeing of those who are working with children and young people experiencing bereavement.

  • Seasons for Growth , a programme ran since 2001, aims to ‘build the resilience of children and young people who are dealing with significant loss or seasonschange’ (Seasons for Growth). With four levels available, the programmes work with children and young people from Primary to Secondary age.
